A Scented Weekend!
Despite the touch-and-go weather (from hot to stormy and back again) we managed to have a wonderful weekend here in the River City. It’s a great time to enjoy the scents and sights of summer. Just a few of the highlights included a trip to the Lakeside Farmer’s Market, where I picked up some peaches that are now perfectly ripe and smell just heavenly. A trip to the movies, to see Wall-E, where just the scent of buttered popcorn is enough to make me feel like a kid again. Finally, a trip to the fabric store to get some odds and ends for a sewing (actually, upholstering) project that instantly brought back memories of my grandma teaching me the basics of sewing. My old machine runs quite well and the smell of the cabinet and the machine oil, it made me very nostalgic.
