The Scented Life: All about fragrance

Abinoam Beleza

by Amy on May 31st, 2007

Beleza: a warm, rich, and hypnotic oriental fragrance with notes of tahitian vanilla bean, orchid, Virginian sandalwood, and musk.

This one had a very interesting development on my skin. For the first few moments, it was all powder. Then, as the powder settled down, the sandalwood and musk notes came out and really warmed up. Sandalwood and Tahitian vanilla are a great combination, although I have to admit I didn’t know that Sandalwood was produced in Virginia. The orchid note is the least prominent, as if it is merely tangled around the wood and musk notes here and there. The vanilla is also very non-foody as with the Desejo, and I think this is the most seductive fragrance of the ones I tried. Worn lightly it could work for day or office, but I think it would really come out best in the days after indian summer, until one feels the first stirrings of spring in the soul. It’s comforting and warm, like a luxurious cashmere sweater.

Thanks so much to Glenn from Abinoam from sending me these great samples. I’m keeping the Cobice for myself and passing on the others to scent-loving friends!
