Back In Black! Derek Jeter’s second fragrance, Driven Black
So, you might have noticed the little outage we had a few days this week. Now, we’re back in business. I took the time to go through all my BF’s mags and find some cologne ads…there are surprisingly a lot in Esquire, GQ, etc. I saw several very yummy ads featuring celebs marketing their own fragrance as well as doing cameos for other designers’ colognes.
One that stuck out was Derek Jeter Driven: Black by Avon. He’s a handsome man and a surprising choice for a fragrance, especially an Avon fragrance, but it works. Black is darker and woodier so it’s more suited for nighttime wear. The original Driven is a daytime/office fragrance. Avon describes Driven Black as “a mysterious blend of exotic saffron, blood orange and exotic woods”. Additional notes for the woody oriental include bergamot, mandarin, white cedar, vetiver, sandalwood and Tamboti wood.
It was released in December and it’s a very very affordable $26 for 75 ml at Avon. I noticed the old mall in town now has an Avon store, so I might even pick up a bottle. Valentines day IS right around the corner, y’know!
