This is the second of seven (planned) fragrances by jeweler turned perfumer Olivier Durbano that I’ve sampled. Olivier Durbano is described as
An architect by training and a jewelry designer by profession, Olivier Durbano found himself drawn even deeper into the mysterious world of gemstone jewelry, fascinated by their stories and sharing an obsession that […]

Today’s perfume of the day is perhaps ill-timed - I knew going into it that the notes weren’t what I was wanting for hot weather, but in the name of science…I wore escentric 01 today, and really quite liked it. It’s a well-composed, interesting scent. The pepper made its appearance quickly but settled in between […]

I’m just smitten with the mediterranean, and nothing evokes that region for me more than the scents of the lovely flora. Several brands, like Acqua di Parma, Odori Colognes, and now, Ortigia. I love, love, love the cool packaging (twin moorish leopards and palm trees) and the wide range of scents has something for everyone. […]

I’m loving the very mediterranean scents of this collection: Tobacco, Leather, Lavender, Saffron, Iris, and Rosemary. They are from the same perfumer who brought us the lovely wood-based scents of Bois 1920. Inspired by Italy, the perfumes are understated and complex, and quite, quite expensive ($210 for 100ml). One could very nearly finance a trip […]

I have a HUGE presentation tomorrow - not size-wise, but it’s very important to my education. If I do well, I get to finally say I have a Master’s degree. If I don’t…it means a lot more work for me. So I want to do really well, and that includes looking and smelling my […]

Oh, man - I found this news story and it was just too great. The guy’s mug shot is classic too. In short, he tried to rob a video rental/tanning salon with a bottle of Stetson shaped like a gun. While I gotta admire his creativity, the bad thing is even using an item that […]

$110, 100ml. I want this scent so badly for summer…the notes: caipirinha, clean laundry, green apple, orange blossom, amber and cedar. It’s androgynous and clean without being too un-natural. It’s available only at Barney’s Coop, and for a limited time only. Why not buy a bottle and share it with your better half, whomever that […]

via Uncrate:
Angel for Men is a rich, gourmand scent - Pure Coffee takes this deeper and richer, mixing coffee and chocolate. I’m not finding it on Thierry Mugler’s site but I’ll keep an eye out.

This woody-chipre fragrance is a classic, and it’s being re-launched with Tom Brady (QB for the New England Patriots) as the spokesmodel. This is some serious, Brokeback Mountain-style hotness (except replace Jake Gyllenhaal with one of Tom’s model girlfriend Gisele….) There also seems to be a new fragrance (Stetson Fresh) available only at K-Mart. Or […]

Diptyque is going to be changing its lineup, adding three new colognes and discontinuing the following scents: L’Autre, Eau d’Elide, Opone, L’Eau Trois, and Virgilio. Opone is an interesting white floral and I know some of you will not be happy, but let’s hope the new scents make up for it. They are: L’Eau de […]
