indie crush: Disquieting Designs

by Amy on April 21st, 2008

Tub ShootersAt yesterday’s Spring Bada-Bing I met my new craft crush: disquieting designs. She came all the way from Pittsburgh, PA just to hang out with us and sell her wares. The packaging is quite rock and roll: think the B-52’s in a bubble bath. Disquieting Designs works hard to be vegan friendly and cruelty-free.

disquieting designs started in early 2005 originally under the name trash couture. It began as a small jewelry operation and as a reason to avoid studying Probability and Statistics, catering to the up-and-coming generation (and to college roommates…). Seeing that the jewelry industry had enough going on as it is, trash couture revamped into disquieting designs and high tailed it into the bath and beauty industry. Now disquieting focuses on yummy smells and yummy feelings…we believe that if we can’t pronounce the ingredient, then it shouldn’t be on your body.

Everything at disquieting is handmade and tested on the beloved guinea pigs known as family and friends. Each item is expertly created and uses only quality ingredients. As disquieting moves into 2008, we look to focus on using more organic products from small business to help our fellow anti-big-businessers.

I purchased a lipbalm in cherry-raspberry.  The show was toooo busy for me to linger long at the table, so I plan on making a mail order real soon.  Those tub shooters look like so much fun!
