Keeping it Cool: The new batch of gourmet-scented anti-perspirants!
For years, in the deodorant aisle we had a choice between about four scents across all brands: unscented, ‘powder fresh’, floral (I was partial to lilac), and ‘fresh rain’. What you put under your arms to stay sweat-free may be a mundane thing, but now brands like Secret and Teen Spirit are upping the ante.
A few months ago, I heard on the boards that there was a great new STRAWBERRY scented deodorant. The only catch was that it is a brand marketed to the just-into-puberty set: teen spirit. I have fond memories of teen spirit, and the cute pink-and-white package took me way back! I was pleased with the price and the scent was, as advertised, very strawberry. Like Strawberry Bubble Yum!
Now that it’s sleeveless season, I’m more on the hunt for an anti-perspirant that not only keeps me dry but doesn’t get all white and crumbly (kind of ruins a sexy sundress look, don’t you think?) . I think I’ve found that in Secret Platinum Scent Expressions. It’s an invisible solid (check) and comes in very ‘now’ flavors like Vanilla Chai, Kuku Coco Butter, Peach, Cherry, Apple, and more! I purchased Kuku Coco Butter and it has a subtle pina colada vibe that doesn’t clash with my perfume du jour (as the Strawberry Teen Spirit did sometimes).
You could always go purchase Fresh Sugar deodorant for $24, but at $4 each at walgreens, these are a fun, scented indulgence that does its primary job well in addition to the fun scents).
