Perfume by the horoscope? Libra
Lots of folks love to wear jewelry, especially gemstone rings, displaying their birthstone or horoscope sign. And who doesn’t peek at their monthly horoscope in the back of Glamour or Cosmopolitan, even if they didn’t take it seriously? If you’re trying to shop for some, impossible to buy for cousin or acquaintance’s birthday, perhaps taking a peek at their astrological sign can give you some tiny spark of sartorial inspiration.
When I saw Bulgari’s Omnia Amethyste, I thought, “that sounds so Libra!” It even looks like a piece of jewelry (not surprising, considering that Bulgari’s stock in trade is jewelry). Although the gemstone for October is opal, or rose quartz (which is pink, not purple), the description really caught me:
Bvlgari presents a new floral fragrance inspired by the precious iridescence of the amethyst: The essence of Omnia Amethyste is as precious and delicate as the scent of iris and rose gardens caressed with the morning dew. Elegant and refined, Omnia Amethyste is dedicated to the young woman who expresses herself through an enveloping, yet fresh fragrance. Her graceful personality reflects the combination of pure and authentic notes while the amethyst, symbol of balance, evokes her noble spirit full of grace and harmony. Her strong femininity reveals itself through her discreet sensuality.
Notes:
Green Sap, Pink Grapefruit, Iris Flower, Bulgarian Rosebud, Heliotrope, Solar Wood.
Style:
Graceful. Elegant. Extremely Fresh.
Balance! Solar Wood! I’ll be searching for more horoscope-inspired fragrances. In the meantime, let me know what your sign is (and if you think your signature scent relates to it).

I got a liquid sample of Bulgari Amethyste when I ordered from Sephora last summer. It was a random sample they added to my order. I just loved it. Couldn’t stop smelling it. My husband bought it for me for my birthday…Oct. 17. Total Libra here. I love that it’s floral but has a fresh white paper scent. Reminds me of Clinique Wrappings or Anais Anais. (Sadly, I worked with a woman who wore very old and stale Anais Anais and it smelled like urine. So she ruined it for me.)

Heidi, that’s great! I’m glad it was a good match. I don’t put much stock in horoscopes but it’s fun.
