Perfume of the Day: Annick Goutal Rose Absolue
I maintain that one of the most modern ways to wear scent is as a single note. It can be a familiar scent, or something more unusual or personal. Rose Absolue perfume is indeed the absolute essence of a rose. If you love Stella McCartney’s Stella, you will go wild for this. It’s pure, elegant, unassuming, feminine. However, given that there’s no base notes, it doesn’t tend to stick around as strongly although I do sense it on and off for many hours after it’s largely dissipated. This layers lovely with rich scents, try amber, blond wood/sandalwood, even tobacco or leather for a whim. It’s not inexpensive, but can be purchased at Amazon.com for a discount - $78 for 1.7 oz.
