Perfume of the Day: Emporio Armani Diamonds
With Beyonce as the face of this new-ish perfume, and in a very bling bling bottle, I was forced to ask “this is Armani”? Sadly, this fragrance is a very ordinary floral-fruit combination. The notes are raspberry and lychee (I swear perfumers put this in just for an “exotic” factor- it doesn’t smell or taste like much of anything to me), rose, amber, and patchouli. It reminds me a bit of Mariah Carey’s M perfume minus the sweet, marshmallow notes. The base notes do provide a bit of interest, but it’s a weird combo - sweet and fruity at the beginning, more grown up at the finish. I want to dislike this more than I actually do, for a department store fragrance it’s better than it has to be, but it’s still nothing spectacular or different. Not quite right for summertime, on me, either…maybe more of a mid-late spring fragrance?
