The Scented Life: All about fragrance

Perfume of the Day: Il Profumo Aria di Mare

by Amy on December 28th, 2007

Aria di MareThis “Song of the Sea” sings a very familiar tune - it’s quite similar to Comptoir Sud Pacifique’s Aqua Motu. Salty, slightly floral and warm. It very much evokes the sea, and I love it. It’s too similar to the CSP to own both (I already have a full bottle of Aqua Motu) but there is a slight softness and sandy warmth to this scent that gives it a slight edge. The watermint, etc notes are so faint as to be un-noticeable unless you are specifically trying to find them. At $90 for 100 ml at Luckyscent, it’s only $5 more than the CSP although the bottle is not as attractive as it could be.

Aria di Mare captures an aquatic landscape in late summer, a fresh and soul stirring fragrance clearly inspired by breathtaking sea vistas and rushing rivers winding their way through the sea cliffs. Exuberant and crisp, this lively perfume opens with a rush of soft ocean notes, just like a wave. In its aftermath are cool and aquatic notes mixed with an unexpected jumble of joyful wild flowers and sand white lily. As this fragrant experience unfolds, the unmistakably tropical tiare breezes in and out, complimented by a soft musk that evokes long, bare footed strolls on a distant shore.

Aria di Mare notes
Ocean notes, bamboo stalk, java tea leaves, floral herbaceous notes, sweet water mint, yellow wild broom, acacia flowers, sand white lily, yellow rose, tiare, musk
