Perfume of the Day: L’Artisan Dzing!
Once named “Desir Cirque” or Circus Desire, this fragrance combines notes like saffron, ginger, balsam, and rich tonka beans. The balsam evokes old-timey liniment, or more recently Vicks Vapo-Rub. The resinous notes fade fairly quickly on my skin, giving way to an earthy, sweetness…hinting at leather, sawdust, and more directly the saffron and gingery spice notes. I love love LOVE the bottle and the Lady and the Tiger graphic. It’s not particularly a manly or a feminine fragrance. I immediately thought of Vulcana, lady strongwoman and early 20th century celebrity who wouldn’t have been out of place in a circus ring.
