Perfume of the Day: Untitled #3 by Sarah Horowitz
I’ve reviewed quite a few Creative Scentualizations fragrances before. This Untitled #3 scent is not reminiscent of those - and in fact I like it even better. The light, flowery notes are bookended by…something darker. Just around the corner. The red amber lacks sweetness and is an unfamiliar twist. The gardenia notes are greenish and buoyant. I would catch whiffs of this periodically and it is quite arresting, and as I said, just unfamiliar. It is a perfume oil so a tiny bit will do for a long time. $65 for 8ml at Luckyscent.
From Luckyscent:
You are alone in the museum on a mid-week afternoon. The cool, watery sunlight of late autumn slants through deserted space, your footsteps echo as you wander through unfamiliar corridors. You stumble upon a strange room, hung with thick and dusty tapestries. Solemn, wide-eyed saints in cracked enamel stare from the velvety shadows and a gleam of silver catches your eye in the dim light – an austerely beautiful chalice, set with a single deep purple stone. Simple and stunning and possibly enchanted. Sarah Horowitz, the brilliant creator of Creative Scentualization, has crafted an evocative blend that feels precious, mysterious and timeless. A light and sparkling yuzu gives way to the ethereal sweetness of violets. Their delicacy is balanced by smooth red amber, which gives the violets weight without ever overpowering them, and a whispery blend of coriander and sandalwood. The result is soaring and spiritual, but full of shadows, like the high vaulted ceiling of a gothic cathedral. A scent that captures the hushed and melancholy beauty of twilight.
UNTITLED #3 by Sarah Horowitz notes
