Revlon Flair
Despite a delay in its release, Revlon Flair has launched! Revlon was once a ‘prestige’ brand, but hasn’t had a fragrance in decades (since 1982, to be precise). I had nearly forgotten to keep an eye out for this one, it had been so long since I read the first press releases, describing the fragrance as “a modern chypre. Its top notes are of passion fruit and black currant; its heart is of peony, lily of the valley and ylang, and its drydown is of patchouli, plum and praline.”
I thing the description is accurate, but doesn’t do this scent justice. I really wasn’t expecting much, especially since this was nestled between Shania Twain’s fragrance and a tray of nail polish. It’s a very vintage/modern - heady and assertive floral, like many of your favorite vintage fragrances, but also wearable and modernized with the plum/praline notes, and grounded by patchouli. I also think the bottle has a retro vibe, and I think this will be a great fragrance for fall.
