The Scented Life: All about fragrance

Scrub a Dub! part 2

by Amy on May 12th, 2007

mcs.jpgOne of my treasured finds of late, I’m almost hesitant to share this next product, because I want to keep the great customer service and well-crafted formula to myself.  But, in the name of science, I’ll go ahead and spill:

Mad City Sue’s whipped shea scrub is the best scrub I’ve ever tried.  The ingredients are minimal, but quality: Sugar, Fractionated Coconut Oil, Shea Butter, Stearic Acid, Jojoba Oil, Emulsifying Wax, Liquipar Optima (preservative), Vitamin E, Fragrance, Cosmetic Colorants.  She makes them fresh when you order,  and usually they arrive less than a week later.  Along with Strawberry Shortcake (shown at right), there are such scent options as cranberry yuzu, frosted pink cupcakes, and a whole list of custom scents for you to get crazy with.

The scrubbiness is substantial, but the shea butter and coconut oil will leave your skin moisturized, not stripped like some commercial/drugstore scrubs.  A little seems to go a long way, but for $11.99 you can purchase a large 15 oz. jar that should last quite a while.  Compare that to Isle of Eden’s scrubs, which are$14 for 11 oz.
