Scrub a Dub!
Hot on the heels of Splurge or Save, it’s time for me to review my favorite bath treat: scrubs! For some, they’re a necessity only in the winter, or for between-pedi foot maintenance, but scrubs are at least a weekly indulgence for me. With the near-disappearance of pantyhose (but a thankful rise in the popularity of brightly colored tights
In my mind, Fresh Brown Sugar Body Polish really started the whole sugar scrub craze. In true Fresh style, however - the price is absolutely ridiculous. $62.50 for 14 oz???!!!! Thankfully, there are many more options now, just as there are alternatives to Philosophy’s 3-in-1’s.
One that’s very similar to the Fresh Body Polish is the Sugar Reef scrub from Kiss My Face. Citrus oils are some of my favorite scents in essential oils, and this scrub includes Orange, Grapefruit, Lemon Verbena, and Bergamot. These combine to make a bright, energizing aroma and along with the natural scents of the sugar, jojoba, and macadamia nut oils, are great for working a bit of aromatherapy in with your at-home spa. The texture is fine, like sand, and make sure to stir before you scrub to mix the oils and sugars. You may or may not want to use a shower gel after this - if you have dry skin you will probably appreciate the extra moisturizing (but be careful not to slip if you’re in the shower!)
A bonus - it’s 97% organic!
