Shower Gel: Splurge or Save, part 3
Now that I’m living with my sweetie, we seem to go through a lot of shower gel. He’s bigger than me, for one - and goes to the gym several times a week. This adds up to a lot of showers, and a lot of shower gel. One product that I try to keep on hand is Lander’s 3-in-1. I first saw these at Wal-Mart, which makes sense if you think about it: a ton of product for a tiny price. But, unlike most things at Wal-Mart these days, this was actually worth the $3 and then some.
My personal favorite is Cafe Caramel (smells a lot like Philosophy’s Cafe au Lait), but we’ve also tried Lime (thumbs up from him, thumbs sideways for me). And, also like Philosophy, this has a bit of verse on the front - it’s so spammy, it’s funny. Ahem:
It’s a big, fat LIME in a big, fat bottle. Wall-to-wall LIME. A gigantic, storewide LIME. It’s the biggest LIME to ever hit Hollywood. A LIME of historic proportions. An all-star LIME extravaganza. The LIME of the century. Standing room only LIME. Sea-to-shining-sea LIME. A LIME to end all LIMES. One LIME to rule them all.
They definitely got the first part right. I’ve seen this for various prices at Target, Walgreens, Ulta, and even the Family Dollar, but assuming it’s around $3 average, that calculates to 10 cents per ounce. The only problem with these is…they last too darn long, and sometimes I get a longing for some other scent. Seriously, even with heavy use a bottle lasts 2-3 months.
On their website, I learned there’s a Green Apple scent coming soon - I’m definitely going to have to try that!

The Creme Caramel sounds awfully tempting!! Wal-Mart is on the list for tomorrow! :)
