The Scented Life: All about fragrance

Spring Cleaning: my favorite naturally scented products

A few years ago, if you wanted a clean home,  bleach, comet, and ammonia were about the only scents you had to choose from.  Today, there’s a whole range of more natural cleaners that use essential oils, enzymes, and less harsh chemicals to clean your floors without cleaning your clock, so to speak.  The next few days while I’m spring cleaning, I’ll also be reviewing several of my favorite cleaning products.   A nicely scented product makes scrubbing icky messes a little less icky.

One of the most popular ‘alternative’ cleaners is Method - now widely available at target.  There are a lot of different products to choose from, but only a few scents.   Two of my favorites are French Lavender and Pink Grapefruit.  I mean, who can object to lavender?   They also say that “Method is made with naturally-derived surfactants. It works by absorbing dirt rather than chemically degrading it. And method is biodegradable so you can clean your home without flushing super-toxic chemicals down the drain into our rivers, lakes and oceans. We’re against that. Dirty doesn’t have to roll downhill.”  I don’t know a lot about chemistry so I’m not entirely sure that the chemicals are less toxic.   I guess we’ll have to trust them on that, or perhaps an enlightened reader can tell me more.

More tomorrow!
