Tart of the Day: Micks Wicks’ Blueberry Muffin
In addition to being one of the healthiest fruits you can eat (because of all the antioxidants and flavonoids), blueberries are also one of the yummiest foods on the planet. When Micks Wicks recently reopened, I couldn’t help but get several of these, as they are a perennial favorite. In my former office, I had an electric tart burner, and this one never failed to draw carb-craving neighbors near my desk.
Micks’ tarts are paraffin for the most part, but there are also soy tarts made with essential oil blends for those that like more natural products. I feel that paraffin has a better scent throw, but soy tarts can also be just as strong if they are made by a skilled chandler. The paraffin tarts from Micks Wicks also last a long time, often for two eight-hour burnings. Yankee can’t hold a candle to that!
Blueberry Muffin is much more blueberry than muffin, which suits me very well because most bakery/muffin/cookie scents all tend to smell alike. R. definitely walked into the bedroom about 4 hours after I started burning this tart and said “blueberries!” Blueberries, indeed :) I purchased about 15 other scents, so prepare for lots of Micks Wicks love in the coming weeks.
