The Scented Life Book Club - Perfume
Although Patrick Suskind’s novel, Perfume, was written in the 1980’s, it only recently received a movie treatment. I read this novel on a cross-country flight. Really, though, I *inhaled* this novel - the 18th century France portrayed is incredibly compelling. Much like Jitterbug Perfume, the perfumer strives to create something more amazing than any perfume created before. However, unlike Jitterbug Perfume, the methods the perfumer uses are more…uh…animal than vegetable, let’s say. If you love CSI, murder mysteries, AND perfume - this book is for you! :)
